Merit Badge MADNESS Elite 8 shining examples of Scouting enjoyment
Elite 8 action underway
Our Merit Badge MADNESS challenge bracket has been narrowed to the Elite 8, with all but one of the lower seeds advancing to the District Finals. The results may not be surprising to some with many of the top seeds coming in the form of Eagle required merit badges, but with a quick look at the bracket, one can see the remaining field consists of many popular merit badges in Scouting.
In the Arrowwood Region, No. 14 Wood Carving continues its Cinderella run after escaping Environmental Science 56-44. No. 5 Camping knocked off the No. 1 First Aid to set up the finale.
The No. 1 seed Citizenship in the Nation remains the only top seed after advancing and now takes on Archery.
Here's a look at the Elite 8 match-ups:
- Arrowwood Region: Camping vs. Wood Carving
- Great Oaks Region: Space Exploration vs. Shotgun Shooting
- Chinquapin Region: Fishing vs. Canoeing
- Old Sycamore Region: Citizenship/Nation vs. Archery
