VENTURING CREW 609 WEBSITE – ABOUT US

Venturing Crew 609 is an outdoor high adventure, youth led group, based in Issaquah, Washington and is open to young women and men, ages 14 thru 20. We are sponsored by Recreational Equipment, Inc. (REI) of Redmond Washington and operate under the guidelines of the Boy Scouts of America.

The Crew was formed in 1998. We have a strong mountineering focus with previous summits of many of the major volcanic peaks in the Northwest, including 14,411 foot Mt. Rainier. We provide a complete training program for our members. This year we have scheduled summits of Mt. Baker and Mt. Rainier in Washington and Mt. Hood in Oregon. Other Crew activities include White Water Rafting, Kayaking, Skiing, Snowboarding, Winter Survival Skills Training and more.

We have monthly meetings the first Wednesday of each month, at either the Sunset Elementary School in Issaquah or at REI-Redmond. Check the calendar to confirm location.
