If Scouting volunteers wish to make a recommendation for service to the Council Executive Board, please send your nomination to Tim at trvanvalen@gmail.com. Thanks!
Adult leaders and youth members share the responsibility for the safety of all participants in the Scouting program, including adherence to Youth Protection and health and safety policies. To that end, effective Oct. 1, 2022, any leader that is not current for Youth Protection Training (YPT) will have their membership Suspended until they are current. Suspended is a new BSA membership category that removes any access to a leader’s my.scouting tools as well as access to Scoutbook, and requires them to cease all Scouting activities until they have completed YPT. A leader can still access my.scouting to complete YPT. Individuals and their unit Key 3 will be notified when their membership has been Suspended due to expired YPT. Unlike the previous process, where returning to active membership required completion of YPT, submitting a new application, and paying a pro-rated membership fee, the new category of Suspended requires completion of YPT only. Any questions can be addressed to the Council’s YPT Champion, Dale Balmer, dbalmer8@comcast.net.
