We anticipate that Regional and National Venturing Officers will be attending, so you can meet our youth venturing leaders.

All State and Riverside County Covid-19 protocols will be enforced:  masks are required, we will organize in groups of 12 or fewer and maintain social distancing.  All attendees will need BSA Medical Forms Part A and B, and the appropriate youth or adult waivers.

Covid Message from California Inland Empire Council

Dear Scouters,

As we approach the holidays and COVID19 is still with us we ask that you all comply with the laws and regulations set by local County Health Departments concerning COVID 19..

Reminder Regarding Covid-19 Restrictions and Scouting:

The Public Health orders of the State of California, County of San Bernardino and County of Riverside prohibit social gatherings with certain exceptions, and subject to certain conditions.  In compliance with those public health orders, CIEC has adopted rules and procedures that apply to all Scouting activities.  Scouting activities must be outdoors, with masks and social distancing, and are limited to no more than 14 in a group.  Camping is still prohibited.  (Please see the CIEC web site for details on our "Restart Scouting" rules). Camping Activities are not permitted at this time.

Our first responsibility as Scout leaders is to keep Scouts safe.   Activities that do not comply with the Covid-19 rules violate the law, are contrary to CIEC policy, and, most importantly, put Scouts and Scout families at risk.   Please do not risk our Scouts' health, or your standing in the Boy Scouts of America.

Children and Family Services Ensuring the Safety of Our Residents

During the pandemic, San Bernardino County Children and Family Services has continued to provide services to the children and families throughout the county.

Perhaps even more critical now than ever before, social workers work around the clock to ensure the safety and well-being of children. This has included staffing a child abuse hotline, responding to allegations of abuse and neglect, and ensuring children are placed in care when they are experiencing abuse and neglect.

"Throughout the pandemic, I have had some very dedicated staff and they have been out there investigating child abuse and neglect and working in the office to make sure our kids are still able to see their parents when there is a visit that needs to occur," said Marlene Hagen, Director, of San Bernardino County Children and Family Services.

The department produced an informative video to help show and explain its role during these trying times. The video explains some of the additional steps made to ensure safety with COVID-19 protocols for staff working in the office and also for those who were conducting investigations of abuse and neglect allegations.

In addition, staff prepared an isolation and quarantine shelter in partnership with the Department of Behavioral Health. This shelter was a safe place to stay for youth in foster care who were in quarantine due to exposure to COVID or who had tested positive for COVID.

"We wanted to make sure kids who come into our care, should they test positive or have been exposed to COVID-19, have a place to go, to be cared for and feel comfortable," said Hagen.
