2021 National Scout Jamboree

July 21-30, 2021 at Summit Bechtel Reserve

Registration is now open for youth participants. If you have not completed the National registration, please complete that first at https://jamboree.scouting.org/. Follow our HVC Jamboree Registration Guide to do it yourself online or attend an upcoming registration open house and register in person with our staff. We’ll answer questions and assist with the registration process.

What is Jamboree?

Scouting’s flagship event is one-of-a-kind. It’s a gathering of 40,000 Scouts, leaders, and staff that showcases everything that is great about the BSA and its members. Held every four years at the Summit Bechtel Reserve in West Virginia, the Jamboree is an amazing opportunity for participants, volunteers, and visitors to experience the best of Scouting, all in one place. Features include; one of the longest zip line courses in North America, a world-class skate park, ATV offerings, treetop canopy tours, rock climbing, patch trading, stadium shows, and much more!

Who can attend?

The Jamboree is open to all who are qualified on a first-come, first-served basis.  Qualifications to attend the National Jamboree include:

  • Registered member of a Scout Troop, who will be at least 12 years old by the first day of Jamboree, but who has not yet reached their 18th birthday by the last day of Jamboree.  --OR--
  • Registered member of a Venture Crew who will be at least 14 years old by the first day of Jamboree, but who has not yet reached their 21st birthday by the last day of Jamboree.

Hudson Valley Council organizes a Council Contingent to each National Jamboree. The Contingent for 2021 is planned to be 3 boy Scouts BSA Troops and a partial girl Scouts BSA Troop and/or Venturing Crew. Each full unit is 36 youth and 4 adult leaders.

How much does it cost?

2021 Jamboree is $2100. Jamboree fees include all gear, activities, and events. Other out-of-pocket expenses may include (but are not limited to) additional uniforms, patches, and spending money. $300 deposit due at sign up. Payment plan runs through November 2020.

What is included?

Besides the Jamboree experience itself, there are many costs included in preparation for the event.

  • Jamboree training, meetings, and other events
  • Gear, including all troop/crew specific gear (flags, unit numerals, hats, shirts, backpack, duffle bag, patches)
  • Jamboree event fee
  • Dedicated Scouting professional and support staff to facilitate and assist in a successful Jamboree experience
  • Bus transportation to and from Jamboree with dedicated bus drivers
