
Mackinac Island Adventure Camp
May 15, 16, & 17, 2025, Straits State Park, St. Ignace, Michigan
REGISTRATION CLOSES ON MAY 5, 2025!
In May we will travel to the Upper Peninsula to Camp at the beautiful Straits State Park in St. Ignace, Michigan. We will tour Mackinac Island on Saturday. Troop will tent camp in the Group Use Area, parents are welcome to tent with us or make a reservation in the RV camping area, or stay at one of the numerous hotels in the Mackinaw City & St. Ignace.
We will arrive anytime after we check-in, 5:00 pm and set-up camp. Our first food served will be a Snack at 9:00 pm so bring a dinner or plan on going out.
On Saturday we will have Breakfast at camp and pack a lunch for the island. Next we are off to the ferry docks for a 9:30 am departure from the St. Ignace docks. Our trip to the island will include a scenic detour under the Mighty Mackinac Bridge!
We will spend the day touring the island with our picnic lunches. Departure from the island and back to camp will be at 5:00 pm.
Dinner back at Camp will be at 6:30 pm and we will relax the night away with the best of Troop 179 entertainment at our Campfire complete with smores. Plans are to eat breakfast on Sunday morning and then strike camp and return home.
The cost is $45.00 for Scouts, Venturers, siblings, and parents; children 5 and under are free. Included is the Food, Ferry Ride and a Fort Pass. Bring your bike to Mackinac Island, Ferry tickets to bring your bike can be purchased at the dock for $21.00 per bike.

Important Travel Information
We are hopeful that every Scout can arrange a ride with a family that is going. The agreed upon Troop Transportation to St. Ignace will be in 12 passenger rented Vans driven by two 179 Adults. The cost of these vans is $80.00 per person that will be added onto your monthly statement if your Scout needs to ride in a Van. We probably will not be able to take anyone in the Vans who want to register after the registration close date, May 5, 2026, a week earlier that normal.
